Sheet metal folding process.
Sheet metal bending is a forming process in which a direct force is applied to the metal that allows the material to be bent with plastic deformation.
The process of folding or bending metal is done with a press, also called a press brake that uses a die to deform the metal.
To bend or fold the metal, the thickness and the force to be exerted by the folding machine must be taken into account. At the pressure point of sheet metal bending, a small thinning of the material occurs at the elbow.
Currently, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) presses or folding machines allow for the production of series of pieces with perfect repeatability and without variations.

Types of folding.
Among the types of industrial bending that are carried out on CNC press brakes during production processes, there are three types:
Air folded
In this type of folding, the punch presses inside the opening without touching the lower part of the die.
Deep fold
Variant of air folding, the punch presses the sides of the V.
Print
In stamp bending, the punch crushes the sheet metal to the bottom of the V. The force exerted is much greater than in deep bending.
